Our Social Dances provide an outlet for people of all ages and skill ranges to come together to enjoy dancing, music and learning. Advanced dancers gracefully swirl about the floor and newbies practice to their heart’s content. Dance Ambassadors, people who love to dance, are available to teach newcomers a basic step in several dance styles. The song playlist features music from several decades through today. From time to time we will bring in a professional dance instructor to introduce new people to the wonderful world of dance.
We choose community partners for many of our dances and we donate a portion of the evening’s proceeds to the chosen organization.
To date we have donated over $650 to the Community Food Pantry, The Manitowish Waters Lions, The Manitowish Waters Lioness and the Manitowish Waters Fire and EMS Co.
There is a $10 fee per couple and snacks and beverages are available throughout the evening. For more information contact Frances Whitfield at 715-367-6758.
The next dance, on May 18, will be held at the Manitowish Waters Community Center from 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm. Dress up, if you wish, for the Kentucky Derby Theme! Several of our regular dancers are currently creating their hats. What outrageous headpiece will you be sporting? Please spread the word, it is a great opportunity for people to learn to dance. We are planning theme dances for the coming year. You can print this for sharing and your use! Thank you and we look forward to meeting you!
