Driving north of Manitowish Waters, on Hwy 51, you will see our sign. Turn right and follow the signs to the art center. We are located about 300 feet east of the highway, on the right hand side.
Follow the boardwalk to the door that will lead you to a magical place!
Our calendar of events and announcement board for other area activites is located to the left of our entrance. If you stop by while we are unavailable, leave a note, there is a pad and pencil in the display case.
Upon entrance to the art center you will pass through our gallery/classroom. A brief stop will introduce you to the many earth friendly features of this green building that was built by the founder and director of this program. Questions about the construction? Frances is always more than happy to talk about this building that she and her teenage daughter built with the help of her son and many interested, kind-hearted people.
A four month events board lists classes, free groups and other events that are offered to the community.
The stairs carry a very timely message and remind all who enter here to stay in this very moment.
Our shop, one of the means that supports our free programs, features the work of over 20 area artists. Here you will have the opportunity to purchase unique, uncommon art by many award winning artists. We feature everything from original water colors to books, locally created greeting cards to pottery, original musical CDs to beaded jewelry and everything in between. Enjoy the soothing melodies of Bob Sandlin’s music as you shop in this one-of-a-kind setting. As all who have entered will attest to, you will leave feeling soothed and calm.

Can’t wait to visit…
I am glad to hear from! Our program offers many aspects of art to those who enter our doors!
What a great looking place. Do you have a calendar of July classes posted yet? I am a teacher and up here for the summer.
Hi Sharon! Thank you for your inquiry! On our home page is an announcement for the summer schedule. There is a link there for the summer schedule. To print it: Print on both paper and fold in half to have a complete booklet. If you prefer I can mail one to you!
I would be interested in taking a pine needle basket making & birch basket making class from Francis Whitfield. Thanks Pauleyn
